A rare treat of neo classical Kathak by one of its finest exponents.

A dynamic partnership of the body, rhythm and melody, based on improvisations of dance led by Sushmita Ghosh and live music by the award winning flautist and composer Keith Waithe.

Sushmita has been creating work for other dancer. Across is her own first major creation since the last acclaimed piece The Rosary for which Nitin Sawhney composed.

Sushmita Ghosh is a graduate of Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. Sushmita joined the UK centre of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan as Resident Kathak Instructor in 1990. She taught, performed and created dance for the next 12 years in London in association with various artists and organisations including Nahid Siddiqui, Nitin Sawhney, Akademi and BBC. She established Aakriti Dance Company to provide quality training and performance opportunities for young South Asian Dancers in the UK. Also based in New Delhi, Sushmita continues her dance journey as a dancer, teacher and choreographer.
